I personally like specialization like this it gives players that niche their looking for

ā€œI want to be a tactical warrior highly skilled meticulous and preciseā€

Vs

ā€œI want to be a massive powerful canon ball of muscle who smashes through combat like a tankā€

Different niches and fun to jump off of with a character

I think what your going to struggle with is separating the warrior from the guardian

For instance what is the difference between a juggernaut warrior and a guardian mechanically and flavor

What niche is one filling that the other one isn’t?

Balancing is also always hard for fighters

They are not really magic based which is limitless

So keeping them feeling fresh is giving them things to do I think

As a magic user I can cast many different spells in many different creative ways and situations

But you can only hit someone with a sword so many ways even if you get creative with it.

So it’s giving them fun options that can be used in fun and creative ways. Things that spark the imagination.

Also I don’t think you should make them weak to magic

If a GM wants to make a enemy that’s strong to non magic users that’s them but I wouldn’t lump them all into

ā€œWeak to magicā€ status

Anyway I’m excited to see early version of some of these classes and mechanics once you decide to dive in!
