Thoughts and Chances, December 2023
Christmas has come early, and I am passing on this joy and happiness to you.

I’m sitting at my desk, thinking about whether I should do a video, perhaps an audio message, and, ya know what; I think an old-fashioned note would do just fine.
The past few months have been both interesting and challenging, and even through the hard parts, I have enjoyed every moment. From stress on learning to finding my stride and discovering are ideas to match the new tools given to me.
Making the migration to Substack was, without a doubt, the best choice I’ve made in my professional career.
That being said, it’s also complicated my process — because now I have options to do so much more — and to give you far more than you may have initially expected or hoped for.
Yeah. I’m sure you’re kicking yourself.
This note is to explain that I am recalculating and planning the process of creation for my books and this site. This is making me laugh out loud. There are so many options to choose from. Even the thought of moving from Apple back to PC soon won’t stop this.
In fact, it might provide even pour gasoline on the fire.
The center question is, “How will I take all this information and stories and deliver them to you?”
Here we are, so close to Christmas, and I feel like every decision I can make is a present under a tree for you. It’s awesome. SO…for today and the next week, I’m brainstorming on what stories are being written, linking them together, mapping out the next season of the podcast, weaving in some short stories and how I’m going to release the worldbuilding process….in a NON-traditional way.
Yeah,…I’m not telling you any more about that last one yet.
Soon, though.
I hope you’re having a great month, and that you’re excited about the Holidays. I hope you feel loved and that you are showing love to those around you. The world sucks, and it’s centered on selfishness and teaching people to be buttheads,….so don’t listen to it.
Turn off socialized contamination, walk away from In-Yer-Facebook and whatever they’ve bought to take over and manipulate, and if it’s owned by Amazon, you can look, but leave your wallet at home.
In short, YOU are the important thing here, not what society is shining a light on.
Relationships. People. Children.
All wrapped up in stories to tease and delight the imagination, open the mind and excite the heart.
Thank you for letting me be a part of your life.
Seriously.
Being able to write for you s my greatest personal joy. I truly hope you know that, because I can’t wait to get up in the morning and to slip into the world of fantasy, to clasp hands with Wendell, Chuck and Dax and work together to reveal a world I’d love to adventure in.
One last thing.
If you are a person of faith, or someone who may believe in sending good thoughts to benefit others, please offer them up for me.
I’m praying for a greater capacity, clearer mind, and for these ideas to flow to me without compulsory means.
I’d like to write and publish faster.

Prayers sent, my friend. And sharing an odd thought... there's a Bible verse about not planning for the future. Doesn't actually mean not planning, but more about being flexible: if the Lord wills, I will ____ and we see it in Paul's life and many others. Sometimes I think about that when I'm working on author plans. Planning is awesome. But being flexible and going with it when things change? That's where the real power is, IMHO.
