Something Epic This Way Comes…
“Before the countdown begins, I want to tell you how this world survived—and why you’ll want to be here May 27.”
He never meant to become a hero.
I never meant to build a world.
But here we are.
21 years later.
And Wanted Hero is still alive.
Still growing.
Still being read.
Still changing lives—including mine.
Back in 2005, I launched Wanted Hero online.
Not because I had a plan.
Not because I had fans.
But because I had a burning story... and just enough madness to click “publish.”
I wrote about a reluctant teen with no powers.
A broken world full of secrets.
A path of self-discovery that would lead readers to understand the greatness in themselves.
I did it late at night between raising kids, homelessness, dodging self-doubt, and eating ramen straight from the pack.
It should’ve died a thousand times.
It didn’t.
Because of you.
Because readers kept showing up.
Because someone cared enough to read the next page.
Because a few brave souls said, “I needed this.”
On May 27th, we celebrate Wanted Hero Day.
But this year is different.
It’s not just 21 years of storytelling.
It’s also my 56th birthday.
So I’m giving back—with something rare, symbolic, and maybe a little reckless.
I’ll tell you more next week.
For now, just mark your calendar.
May 27th.
Something’s coming.
Let Me Ask You…
If you’ve been part of this story—what’s your favorite memory?
A scene, a quote, a moment that stuck with you?
Hit reply or leave a comment. I’d love to feature a few as we count down.
Two big milestones! Both worth being tremendously proud of.
