I baked a pie with my grandmother last week and she was happy like I haven’t seen her for a while, but she can’t see, and my pies are never too pretty—as we say, as long as it tastes good. But Ethany has that talent that runs in your family and I’m sure it tasted amazing too.

Oh boy, they do.
She has this thing for making her cakes look real.
I remember years ago, I think she was 12, and she came to my office and asked if I'd had breakfast.
"No sweetie," I said.
"Would you like pancakes?" she asked.
"I'd love some."
So she brought in this amazing stack of fresh pancakes, huge chuck of fresh butter (which I love) and maple syrup drizzling down all sides.
"That's for me?" I gawked.
She just smiled and nodded and placed the plate in front of me.
Fooled me right up to the point of sinking the fork into the masterpiece.
It was 100% cake.
So upset that I lost the pictures I took, I was so impressed.
FYI, Shannon,....we are a pie obsessed family. Thanksgiving brings no less than 12 pies, usually closer to 20. You name it, we likely have it.
Glad you can do that with your grandma!
