Best fireworks I've ever heard were at a resort in Ogunquit, Maine.
It was the summer between 7th and 8th grade...so....1991. Vanilla Ice and New Kids on the Block and Paula Abdul. We went on a 2-week bounce through New England, my parents, a friend of theirs, and me.
July 4th, we sat on blankets in the sand on this cove and watched the fireworks launch from a sandbar farther out. The glittering chemical incandescence overhead reflected in shattered fragments on the rollicking waves, as all fireworks do over all water.
What made this unique, was the enormity of the the thundering sound echoing through the cove and across the water. Truly I must know now the
ENORMITY of a dragon's wings sending telremors through the air, for that was the sound. Louder than guns, deeper than cannons, the only thing I had to compare it to was the fly-overs I've seen every year when the pilots take off at supersonic speeds after saluting the start of the Indy 500.
Even the screaming roar of 33 racing engines was incomparable.
I still have a touch of tinnitus from those fireworks.

Funny, but I can imagine something like that. LOTS of advantages of doing fireworks over water, also. Don't have to hold back in size...if you have the bucks, bring it, right?
We have mountains and fields of dry grass, ready to be consumed.

Never watched fireworks over the water...and that sounds amazing/ Would love to see the lights reflected.
Those CLICKS on that coffee grinder! So cool! But I liked the family cameos more.

...I'm thinkin' now, you ought to start screaming, cause if stuff is ignoring the women-folk, hey, I have 9 girls in MY house...I'm happy to pick it UP a notch, but I promise you -- I have pushed myself far past my limit.
I'm a broken creative at this point...trying to limp across the finish line with the new stories.
The coffee is AMAZING, I love the cameos of my family -- when I can sneak them in -- and I'm driving my wife about 90 minutes up north for her to start her sister trip. WHILE SHE IS GONE, there will be podcasts, videos and a LOT of artwork done for The Underlings...
...maybe even some merch designed for the kids.
So, I love you, Victoria....PROMISE, I'm making things for YOU ....AND for your little ones.
Been mostly 18-20 hour work days this last 2 weeks.
*whimper*
If I'm the dad of nine girls, yeah, you can bet I'd say "she who waits." I have a habit of poking the bear with language, sometimes. Like using that old fashioned 'he' to mean, well, mankind. Whoops.
You're a good man and a smart man, Jaime. You bring your wife her coffee (God bless her). I'm married to a good man and a smart man, too. He brings me my coffee every day, and so much more.
