Dax looked over my shoulder, getting all worked up. He flashed a wide, toothy, freaky-looking grin. “Gnomes have the coolest sports on Elämä!” he exclaimed.
I really am enjoying it. I think it gives a deeper connection to Wendell that you only get with the first person view.
And feeling connected to the characters is what I think carries a book. You can have the highest stakes. The most eloquent writing and Lore until your ears fall off and that’s all well and good.
But in my opinion it doesn’t matter if you don’t have people for the reader to care about. Someone who feels real and embodies something. That’s not why I start a book but it’s why I stay with a book.
Wendell truly is what I think of as a hero. Not someone skilled of talented or even destined. But someone who cares and is willing to try.
Thank you, Joseph. I feel the same way. To me, being a hero is doing for someone else what they cannot do for themselves.
Are you enjoying the change to first person? Because I just found a new challenge...
Much of the previous books had multiple POVs, like Chuck and Thule...all of which have to be cut from the story and done a new way.
Choices.
Hehe.

I will take this as a profound honor and duty to make sure Wendell is and will remain the focused perspective of this advebture...
This is so good. I'm enjoying it immensely.
These are the comments that motivate me to do my best in every way...thank you.
